Johnson Fires 77, Garnet Nipped by Stockton at Sea View
ABESCON, N.J. -- Swarthmore senior Darren Johnson fired a season-best six-over 77 as the Garnet were edged by Richard Stockton in an exhibition match at Sea View Golf Resort Friday afternoon.
The Ospreys, a club team, earned the team win by combing for a score of 359 to Swarthmore’s 362.
Johnson circled the par-71 course in efficient fashion, navigating the windy conditions at the Shore. Classmate Michael Johns carded an 87 while senior Armand Russo entered the clubhouse with a 95.
The Garnet return home to Rolling Green Golf Club on Monday, March 24 for a match with local schools Holy Family, Eastern, Cabrini, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Richard Stockton.
