Knights Steal Game From Garnet

GLENSIDE, Pa. -- The Swarthmore men's basketball team suffered a heart-breaking loss at the hand of hometown Arcadia Tuesday evening. The Knights opened up their 2007-08 season with an 87-84 overtime victory over the Garnet (2-1) in non-conference action.

Garnet senior center Ian McCormick led all scorers with a career-high 36 points while grabbing 12 boards. Classmate Matt Kurman dropped in 17 points while handing out six assists.

Swarthmore is off for eight days before beginning the Centennial schedule at McDaniel on Wed., Nov. 28. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
