Tough Loss to Bullets

BOX SCORE

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The #22 Swarthmore offense out shot the Bullets 16-6, but it wasn't enough as the Gettysburg women's soccer team pulled off a 1-0 upset victory on Saturday.

During the windy afternoon the Garnet came out strong during the first half controlling ball possession despite the heavy efforts of the offense no goals were scored.

The Saturday match went scoreless until Gettysburg junior forward Erin Miller (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony's) received a long cross from senior Shaine Wright (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) to notch one past Garnet goalie Lauren Walker '09 (Fallston, Mary./ Hotchkiss School) in the lower left corner. Swarthmore regained momentum looking for major opportunities, unfortunately the Bullets came out on top with their lone goal.

The Garnet will look to bounce back to the winning column when they travel to Haverford on Tuesday Oct. 23 for a 3:30 game.
