Garnet Women Rising in USTFCCCA Rankings

USTFCCCA Rankings

NEW ORLEANS - The Swarthmore College women's cross country team jumped four spots to No. 4 in the latest USTFCCCA Mideast regional rankings this week, the organization announced Tuesday.

The team made the leap after winning the White division 6K run at the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University. Freshman Emma Saarel led the team with a seventh place finish.

The Garnet also began receiving votes in the USTFCCCA national rankings released Wednesday, falling just short of cracking the top 35. After receiving the most votes of unranked teams, the women find themselves the top unranked team in the country.

The next test of the season will be the Seven Sisters Invitational on October 16, hosted by Vassar College. The meet starts at 11:00.
