Weston Captures Second Place at the McDaniel Spring Golf Invitational

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Paul Weston finished strong on the final day of the McDaniel Spring Golf Invitational shooting a 76, holding onto second place in the field of 78 golfers.  Weston shot six over par in the tournament leading the Garnet on Sunday afternoon at the Bridges Golf Club.  

Weston led the Garnet with a second place finish at the McDaniel Spring Golf Invitational.

Weston got off to a rough start on Sunday after shooting a 74 on Saturday.  Weston triple-bogeyed the second hole and was five over par after playing only four holes but would bounce back finishing the front nine with a birdie.

On the back nine Weston would card a tough bogey on the 16th hole but would sink a birdie putt on 17 and par the 18th seal a four-way tied for second place.

Sophomore Alex Nichamin finished tied for 43rd shooting an 86 and going 23 over par for the tournament.

Freshman Craig Pentrak shot a pair of 85s in the tournament, finishing just three strokes back from teammate Nichamin.  Senior Jeff Lazarus was next for the Garnet shooting and 88 on Sunday and 172 for the tournament.  Freshman Kyle Krainock finished the day with a 93.

The Swarthmore College golf team tees off again on Monday March 29 when it hosts Neumann, Cabrini, Ursinus and Rutgers-Camden at the Rolling Green Golf Club.  Play is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
