Volleyball Falls to Stevens Tech

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - After winning five straight matches, the Garnet  fell to the Stevens Tech Ducks 3-1 in a hard fought battle on Wednesday night from Tarble Pavilion.  Sophomore Genny Pezzola put away 11 kills and 14 digs to lead the home team.

The Garnet got back into action on Wednesday night after coming off of a championship weekend and having won five straight matches.  They faced off against the Ducks of Stevens Tech.  After going down a game the Garnet bounced back in game two with fourteen kills to win 25-20.

Games three and four showed intense defensive stands with long volleys that kept them close.  Freshman Allie Coleman and Sophomore Lisa Shang held up the defense combining for 28 digs.  The Garnet just couldn't hold up to the Stevens attack as they took both games 25-21 and 26-24.

Swarthmore will look to rebound from the loss on Saturday September 19 when they visit Neumann College.  Action is slated to start at 11:00 a.m.
