Wallwork Falls in NCAA Championships
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Swarthmore junior Rachel Wallwork competed in her second NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Championships at Ogelthorpe University Friday morning.
Wallwork (Washington, D.C. / Georgetown Day), the two-time Centennial Conference Player of the Year, was eliminated in the round of 32 by Leslie Hansen of MIT with scores of 6-3, 6-3. Hansen, the fourth-ranked played in the Northeast region, won in the round of 16 as well, defeating the entrant from Bowdoin.
Wallwork, the eighth-ranked player in the Atlantic South region, concludes the 2008-09 season with an overall record of 12-5.
