Garnet Fall in Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Gettysburg women's basketball team took in early lead in the first half before defeating Swarthmore in a 87-56 Centennial Conference match-up on Thursday evening in the Bream Gym.

With the win, the Bullets evened out at 7-7 overall and 4-3 in Conference play and Swarthmore also finished the evening with a 7-7 and 4-3 CC record.

The Garnet were lead by sophomore forward Kathryn Stockbower (Ft. Washington, Pa. / Upper Dublin), who continued her double-double streak with 22 points and 10 rebounds, both game-highs. Stockbower went an impressive 10-for-13 from the line. Sophomore guard Ceyland Bodur (Istanbul, Turkey / Roberts College) was also a force of the offensive side of the court adding 14 points on the evening.

Swarthmore continues its three-game road trip this weekend, following the large Presidential Inauguration crowds south on Saturday, January 17.  The Garnet will visit Johns Hopkins for a 1:00 p.m. Centennial contest.
