Run, Swarthmore, Run
Entering his 10th season with the Garnet, Swarthmore cross country head coach Peter Carroll looks to have his stable of male runners improve on a fifth-place finish at the 2007 Centennial Championships.
Taking the reins of the Garnet wolf pack will be senior leaders Erik Saka '09 (Quincy, Ill. / Quincy) and Dan Hodson '09 (Trumbull, Conn. / Fairfield Prep). Saka, an All-Region and All-Conference performer in his sophomore year led the Garnet at the 2007 Championship with a 16th place finish.
Returning to the squad are sophomore classmates Patrick Harnett (Syracuse, N.Y. / Westhill) and Alex Frye (Bourbonnais, Ill. / Bishop McNamara) look in to continue progress from stellar freshman campaign. The two consistently finished as the Garnet??s top-five runners.
The team hit trail on August 30th; the Garnet travel to the Delaware Valley Invitational starting at 10:30 a.m. The team will return home on September 12th for the annual Alumni Meet, set to begin at 12:00.
