Tennis Centennial Championship Information

LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Swarthmore men's and women's tennis teams have both earned #2 seedings in the 2008 Centennial Conference Championships which will be held in Baltimore, Maryland on the campus of Johns Hopkins University.

The Garnet women are seeded second with a record of 9-1 in the Centennail (11-5 overall) and will face #3 seed Muhlenberg on Friday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. Defending champion Johns Hopkins is the top-seed and host for the second year in a row, having posted a perfect 9-0 record in the Centennial (13-2 overall). The Blue Jays will face the #4 seed Washington (Md.) in the second semi-final on April 25th at 3:00 p.m.

The Garnet men had a Centennial mark of 7-2 (7-9 overall) in their first season in the Conference, clinching the #2 seed following a 6-3 win over Haverford College on Wednesday, April 23. The two schools will play again on Saturday, April 26th in the first semifinal match at 11:00 a.m. Top-seed and host Johns Hopkins looks to repeat as champion in 2008, playing #4-seed Washington in the second semifinal at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The men's final is set for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27 at 3:00 p.m.
