Corbett Enters Top-Ten List, Again

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- The Swarthmore indoor track teams competed in the Keogh Invite at Haverford College on Friday evening.

Nyika Corbett ’10 (Myrtle Point, Ore. - Myrtle Point) entered the Swarthmore top-ten time list with her 5:19.36 race time in the 1 mile, she placed sixth overall.

A pair of long distance Garnet runners finished back-to-back in the women’s 3,000, Emma Stanley ’09 (Fogelsville, Pa. / Parkland) competed her race at 11:23.21 to earn eight place and Faith Pampel ’09 (Little Silver, N.J. / Red Bank Regional) at 11:28.31, in ninth.

Junior Heather Hightower (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Oakwood Friends) threw the shot put 8.34 to register a seventh place finish.

First year Brendan McVeigh (Middlesex, Vt. / U32 High School) placed sixth in the men’s pole vault with a 3.20 meter throw. 

The Garnet indoor track and field teams have the week to train before the 2008 Centennial Championships that will be held on the campus of Ursinus College starting on March 1.
