Stockbower Earns Weekly Honor

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore freshman Kathryn Stockbower (Ft. Washington, Pa. / Upper Dublin) was named the Centennial Conference women's basketball Player of the Week on Feb. 4.

Stockbower registered two double-doubles in a 1-1 week for Swarthmore. The freshman averaged 14.5 points and 19 rebounds per game, grabbing a career-high 21 rebounds to go along 17 points in a one-point victory at Haverford on Jan. 30. Stockbower followed up with a 12-point, 17-rebound effort at Franklin & Marshall Feb. 2.

Stockbower is ranked in the top-ten in all of Division III for rebounds, averaging 13.9 per game.

This is the second weekly honor for Stockbower—she was selected to D3hoops.com Team of the Week on January 16.

Stockbower's 21 rebounds in the Haverford game is the third-highest single-game total in school history. The record-holder is Nancy Rosenbaum '96, who posted 23 rebounds on December 5, 1992 in a non-conference game against Vassar.
