Garnet Badminton Falls to Drexel

PHILADELPHIA -- Swarthmore's dynamic badminton duo, Kim Kramer '10 and Maithili Parikh '11, won in singles and doubles action yet the hometown Drexel club team pulled out a 5-4 win over the Garnet Tuesday evening.

Kramer and Parikh combined to win No. 1 doubles 21-7, 21-14 over Xiang Mao and Laura Anderson while Drexel won the other two doubles contests.

Kramer streaked past Mao in the top singles pairing, winning by scores of 21-8 and 21-9. Parikh cruised in her No. 2 match against Anderson, earning the victory with scores of 21-5 and 21-8. May Maani ’10 also won in singles’ play, downing Sara White by scores of 21-11 and 21-19.

The Garnet travel to Bryn Mawr this Thursday, Nov. 29 for a 7:00 p.m. match with the Owls.
