CC Playoff Schedule Set

LANCASTER, Pa. -- The 2007 Centennial Conference women's soccer championship slate was finalized on Monday morning. The Swarthmore women are the No. 3 seed and will face second-seeded Ursinus, in the second semi-final at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3 in Baltimore, Md.

Two-time defending champion Johns Hopkins is the top-seed and host for the second year in a row, having posted a record of 12-4-2 overall with 8-1-1 mark in the Centennial. The Blue Jays will host the first semi-final on Saturday at 5:00 p.m., facing off against the winner of No. 5 Gettysburg (7-10-1, 6-4 CC) at No.4 Haverford (9-6-2, 6-2-2 CC) at Homewood Field. The Bullets and Fords will play on Wednesday, Oct. 31 in first-round soccer action at Walton Field in Haverford, Pa.

The 2007 Centennial Championship match is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4 at Homewood Field.

The Garnet (12-2-1 overall, 7-2-1 CC) will make their second consecutive appearance in the Centennial playoffs. In 2006, Swarthmore downed Gettysburg 1-0 in the semifinal round (the first Centennial soccer playoff win in school history) before falling to Johns Hopkins 1-0 in the championship match.
