Garnet Run Fast at Keogh Invite

COMPLETE RESULTS

HAVERFORD, Pa.  -  Connor Darby '09, Jon Shoop '08, Nyika Corbett '10, Mariel Feigen '10, Caitlin O'Neill '10 and Kathy Feeney '09 all finished in the top-5 of their respective events as the Swarthmore indoor track & field team competed at the 2007 Keogh Invite hosted by Haverford College Friday night.

Shoop set his personal-best time in the 3,000 meter race, finishing fourth (first Division III runner) out of 26 runners with a Swarthmore top-ten time of 8:56.93.  Teammate Nat Erb-Satullo '07 continued his strong winter season with a personal-best time as well in the 3,000, finishing 13th in 9:22.97. 

Darby posted his season-best in the 800 meters, finishing fifth out of 37 competitors with a time of 2:02.15.  Teammate Nick Farrar '07 qualified for the Centennial Conference Championships by running 55.20 in the 400 meters while Matt Singleton '07 will also compete at the CC Championships after pole vaulting a height of 12'.

For the women, Corbett ran third out of 19 runners in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:56.09 while sophomore Bess Ritter finished sixth in the same event with a season-best time of 11:08.42.  Feeney rolled to fifth place in the mile run, posting at time of 5:30.98 while O'Neill (1:07.68) and Feigen (1:08.21) ran fourth and fifth, respectively, at 400 meters.

The Garnet return to Haverford College on Feb. 24-25 for the 2007 Centennial Conference Championships, set to start at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24.
