Lancaster, PA - Swarthmore College men's soccer midfielder Michael Bonesteel was named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week on October 30.

Bonesteel, a junior, scored two goals in a 2-0 week for Swarthmore, including the game-winner in a 1-0 Garnet victory at Ursinus on Oct. 25.  The junior put in his second score of the week in a 3-0 win over Haverford in the season finale on Oct. 28, giving him four goals on the season.

Bonesteel, a mathematics and education double major, has 14 goals and six assists in his three-year career at Swarthmore, helping the Garnet win 36 games over that span.

Swarthmore concluded the 2006 season with an overall record of 12-4-1 and a 6-3 mark in the Centennial, earning the No. 3 seed in this weekend's Centennial Conference Championships - Swarthmore will take on No. 2 seed Franklin & Marshall on Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.  It is the third consecutive year the Garnet have accumulated a double-digit win total - the last time occurred in 1993-94-95.

Bonesteel is the second Garnet player to be recognized by the Centennial this season - junior goalkeeper Ryan Sutcliffe was named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 5.
