ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Elizabethtown senior forward Meg Policicchio scored two goals and teammate Val Bawell contributed two assists, leading the Blue Jays to a 4-0 victory over visiting Swarthmore (5-2)  in non-conference field hockey action Thursday afternoon.

The Blue Jays (6-1) struck first with a goal by Laura Rinick at 16:47.  Elizabethtown, ranked 13th in the nation, out-shot Swarthmore 7-2 in the first half.

The offensive exploits continued for the Blue Jays in the second half - Polucicchio put home her first goal at 42:53 and followed ten and a half minutes later with another goal, giving E-town a 3-0 lead.  Blue Jay sophomore forward Andrea Miles notched the fourth score off a penalty corner at 56:49.

Swarthmore senior goalie Melissa LaVan made 11 saves in goal while E-town counterpart Kristen Callaghan made three stops for her fourth shutout of the season.

The Garnet continue their torrid schedule, welcoming 14th-ranked Gettysburg to cozy Clothier Stadium on Sat, Sept. 23.
