Swarthmore, PA— Swarthmore College midfielder Megan Sanborn ( Lewiston, NY - Nichols School) has been named the Centennial Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week of March 19.

Sanborn, a sophomore, was named Most Valuable Player of the 15 th annual Seven Sisters Lacrosse Championship after scoring a goal and causing five turnovers in 11-8 Garnet championship game win over Wellesley (Ma.) on March 19.

In three games over two days, Sanborn had five goals, won nine draws, and caused seven turnovers.  In a 14-0 first-round victory over Elms (Ma.) on March 18, Sanborn tallied a goal, three draw controls and a caused turnover. Sanborn then posted her first career hat trick, with six draw controls, in the 13-5 semifinal win over Haverford later that afternoon.

Sanborn has started all six games for Swarthmore, leading the team with 18 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers.

The last Garnet women's lacrosse player to receive POW honors was current Bryn Mawr head coach Katie Tarr '02, who received the distinction on April 8, 2002.

It is the second Seven Sisters Lacrosse Championship in four title game appearances for Swarthmore. The Garnet have gotten off to their best start (6-0) since 1994.
