Garnet Clinch Playoff Spot

Swarthmore defeated Washington (Md.) 3-0 on Tuesday evening in Tarble Pavilion, and combined with McDaniel's 3-1 loss to Johns Hopkins, secured a spot in the 2005 Centennial Conference playoffs. The Garnet (13-13, 6-3 CC) won by scores of 30-21, 30-23, 30-23.

It is the first Centennial playoff berth in the history of Swarthmore volleyball. The Garnet earn the nod by virtue of the head-to-head tiebreaker. The six Centennial wins also match a school-best, accomplished only once before (1995).
