George Lakey at the Lang Center in 2008-2009
Since the 2006-2007 academic year, George Lakey, author, activist, and, founder of Training for Change, has been part of the Peace and Conflict Studies program at Swarthmore and will teach PEAC 077 Peace Studies and Action, in Spring 2009.
Professor Lakey’s office is located in the Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility.
Katie Camillus ’08 to initiate a micro-finance program in Uganda
Having interned last summer at Kiva.org and working with microfinance organizations, Camillus is using her Lang Opportunity Scholarship at Swarthmore to initiate and study a social justice project in Uganda in cooperation with Project Have Hope . You can follow her work this summer via her blog .
