LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore Maddie Williams of the Swarthmore College women’s lacrosse team has named All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention, the Conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Garnet Men Fight Hard, But Fall to Johns Hopkins 6-0 in Centennial Title Match

BALTIMORE – Johns Hopkins captured its fourth consecutive Centennial Conference championship, besting the Swarthmore College men’s tennis team 6-0 on Sunday afternoon from Baltimore.

The victory in the title match is the Blue Jays’ second in as many years over Swat – but it didn’t come easy, as the Garnet fought hard, losing close decisions at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles before eventually succumbing in singles play.

Swat Tennis Falls to Hopkins in Centennial Conference Final, 5-0

BALTIMORE – The Swarthmore College women’s tennis team (12-5) fell to Johns Hopkins (15-8) in the Centennial Conference championship match in five straight matches, 5-0. Hopkins picked up its fourth straight Conference title.

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – After two days of Centennial Conference softball, Swarthmore’s championship run would come to an end with a hard fought 3-1 loss to the Dickinson Red Devils in the championship round. Swat’s second place finish equals the program’s best showing in the tournament.

Riley No-Hitter Propels Garnet into Centennial Conference Championship Round

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Senior Kathryn Riley threw her second no-hitter of the year to give the Swarthmore College softball team a 1-0 win over top-seed and host Ursinus, sending the Garnet into the Centennial Conference championship round.

Riley’s no-hitter is only the second in Centennial Conference playoff history and fourth of her career.

Garnet Baseball Playoff Run Ends in a Wild 18-11 Loss to Haverford

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Garnet baseball team (20-18) made a wild, late inning comeback but were unable to hold the Haverford Fords (24-15) in the ninth, losing 18-11 to end Swarthmore’s historic season.

Garnet Women Defend 4 by 800 Title, Ly Takes Third to Lead Garnet Day 2 of CC Championships

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – With the home crowd at Clothier Field Stadium cheering them on, the Swarthmore College women’s 4×800 team rose to the occasion, winning its second consecutive Centennial Conference championship in the event, highlighting the Garnet’s performance on the second day of the championships from the College.

The team – consisting of senior Erin Ronhovde, senior Lauren DeLuca, sophomore Margret Lenfest and freshman Rebecca Hammond- crossed the finish line in a time of 9:20.15

On the men’s side, sophomore Daniel Ly medaled in the men’s long jump with a leap of 21-04.00.

Softball Falls to Dickinson 1-0, Faces Ursinus in Elimination Game

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – For the second straight game, the Garnet received a gem on the mound from Riley. But the pitching of No. 4 Dickinson kept the Garnet at bay all afternoon as Swarthmore fell to the Red Devils 1-0.

With the loss, the Garnet drop into the loser’s bracket of the 2010 Centennial Conference Softball Tournament and will face No.1 Ursinus on Sunday morning at 10AM from Collegeville.
