Ariana Spiegel Named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. - Freshman defender Ariana Spiegel of the Swarthmore women's soccer team has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 26, the conference announced on Monday.
Last week, Spiegel anchored a Garnet backline that shut out Ursinus College 2-0 and held Gettysburg College to one goal in its 3-1 victory that swelled the No. 23 Garnet's overall record to 12-3 and 6-2 in the Centennial Conference.
Spiegel becomes the second member of the Garnet defense to receive the Conference's weekly award; sophomore Marie Mutryn was honored for the week ending September 21.
The Garnet return to action on Tuesday when it travels to Haverford. Action is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
