If so, Swarthmore ITS has several options available for faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"FacultyWebsites-TypesofFacultyWebsites\">Types of Faculty Websites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From generally less technical\/time-consuming to more technical\/time-consuming:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"FacultyWebsites-ProfilepageinDrupal\">Profile page in Drupal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The main college website is run on a system called Drupal.&nbsp; All college employees get a profile page.&nbsp; After logging in to Drupal, you can edit your profile page, adding the typical content of a faculty page (CV, biography, courses, publications, etc).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some examples:<br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/profile\/dominic-tierney\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/profile\/dominic-tierney<\/a>\u00a0<br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/profile\/sibelan-forrester\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/profile\/sibelan-forrester<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A link to this profile shows up automatically on the faculty-staff page of the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a nice, quick way to add typical content.&nbsp; ITS takes care of all the theming, so the page matches the college style.&nbsp; As time goes by, the site navigation and appearance will be updated, so you only need to worry about the content, not the appearance of the site.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.swarthmore.edu\/display\/DRUPAL\/User+Contact+Information+and+Profiles\">Learn more about editing Drupal profile pages<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"FacultyWebsites-MiniWebsiteusingDrupal\">Mini Website using Drupal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is possible to create a faculty website within Drupal that would let the faculty member create multiple pages of content and adjust the layout of the pages.&nbsp; This makes it easy to focus on the content of the site without worrying about the theme.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some examples:<br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/faculty-rick-valelly\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/faculty-rick-valelly<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0<br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/joshua-goldwyn\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/joshua-goldwyn<\/a><br><br>If you like the idea of using the Drupal profile but want to have more than a single page, this is a good option.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"FacultyWebsites-OtherOptions\">Domain of One&#8217;s Own<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.swarthmore.edu\/display\/SW\/Domain+Of+One%27s+Own\">Domain Of One&#8217;s Own<\/a>\u00a0is a service that allows faculty, and students working with faculty on academic projects for class, research, or e-portfolios to claim a free domain name (web address) and start building their own unique website.
