Similarly, this is true of the tools within the Atto text editor. Reach all users with the Atto text editor in Moodle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color:#a32424\" class=\"has-inline-color\">TL;DR<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"color:#a32424\" class=\"has-inline-color\">The Atto text editor in Moodle provides multiple methods to meet accessibility standards. Utilize the style options, lists, equation and table editors \u2014 among other tools in the editor \u2014 to optimize accessibility.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#a32424\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Use the accessibility checker to guide additional touch-ups that need to be made.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color:#a32424\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Use MathType and ChemType plugins to create accessible equations and formulas. <\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Atto <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.moodle.org\/310\/en\/Atto_editor\">text editors<\/a> in Moodle have options such as <strong>Show\/hide advanced buttons<\/strong>; style buttons; list buttons; link buttons; insert multimedia buttons. Convey meaning and information with words. Do not rely solely on formatting when using color, since there are folks who have print disabilities or who are color blind. However, one of those tables did not have the headers identified. It&#8217;s the first item in the sixth section.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Clicking on the <strong>Accessibility checker<\/strong> provides tips for improving the accessibility of the current post, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>whether any images are missing alt-text<\/li><li>color contrast compatibility<\/li><li>table properties<\/li><li>headings being used properly.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Markup language widgets: MathType and ChemType<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Insert a math equation &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/moodle.org\/plugins\/atto_wiris\">MathType<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Because the math equation editor featured above may not meet everyone&#8217;s needs, there are plugins available in Moodle. The one available at Swarthmore utilizes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wiris.com\/en\/accessibility\/\">MathType from Wiris, a company that  &#8220;pursue(s) the belief that math should be accessible to anyone<\/a>.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>Students with print disability drop out of STEM by 8th grade (~10 million k-12 students in US) <\/p><cite>LaPierre, C., &amp; Natarajan, H.
