It&#8217;s so nice to see and feel the energy and enthusiasm around campus.  While it&#8217;s great to see our teaching and learning spaces in use, ITS didn&#8217;t want the technology we purchased to facilitate remote teaching to go to waste .  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our <strong>Teaching Studio<\/strong> in Martin 210 is adapted from our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.swarthmore.edu\/its\/2020\/12\/17\/remote-teaching-studios\/\">Remote Teaching Studios<\/a> for use in recording lectures, flipped classroom materials or for use with remote presentations.   We equipped it with good cameras and microphones and the room has lots of writing surfaces.  The setup allows you to retain many of the performative aspects of teaching when developing materials.  Large monitors present your notes while recording.  They allow you to see your audience if you&#8217;re doing a remote lecture, or conference presentation.<br><br>We added &#8220;<strong>Learning Glass<\/strong>,&#8221; to the space.  This clear glass board allows you to write, while maintaining eye contact with your students, creating a more engaged and natural atmosphere.
