Panopto can capture your computer screen, PowerPoint slides, audio, and\/or video from webcams and other devices to record lectures, student or guest presentations, demonstrations, and\/or supplemental materials. You can also <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.swarthmore.edu\/display\/MOODLE\/Integrating+Moodle%2C+Zoom%2C+and+Panopto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">integrate Moodle, Zoom, and Panopto<\/a> so that Zoom meeting cloud recordings automatically show up on your Moodle course page.<\/p>\n<h2>Why use Panopto?<\/h2>\n<p>Panopto can be used to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Record lectures during class so students can view them later<\/li>\n<li>Record mini supplemental videos to be viewed outside of class<\/li>\n<li>Record student or guest presentations<\/li>\n<li>Upload previously recorded video or audio files into Panopto and share in Moodle<\/li>\n<li>Automatically import Zoom meeting cloud recordings into Moodle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this post, I\u2019ll be sharing 3 different ways you can use <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.swarthmore.edu\/display\/MOODLE\/Video+Streaming+and+Lecture+Capture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Panopto video in Moodle<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>#1 The Panopto Block<\/h2>\n<p>Panopto is a permission-based system that may require students to use their Swarthmore login to view certain videos. In order to mitigate any permission issues, we suggest <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.swarthmore.edu\/display\/MOODLE\/Adding+the+Panopto+Block+to+a+Moodle+Course\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">adding the Panopto Block to your Moodle page first<\/a>. You can also embed videos anywhere in Moodle that has a rich-text editor. Students can view the video once they click on the link as opposed to embedding the video into the page.<\/p>\n<p>You can do this by first logging into Panopto at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.panopto.swarthmore.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.panopto.swarthmore.edu<\/a>. Then, click the share button next to the video you\u2019d like to link to. Next, paste the link into the External URL section. Its accuracy rate is about 80% so it is advised that after the initial pass of auto-captioning, you go back into the Panopto Editor and make edits where misspellings and other inaccuracies have occurred. Alternatively, you can also reach out to one of the <a href=\"acadtech@swarthmore.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Academic Technologists<\/a> to request your video be sent out to a service provider for captioning as well.
