{"id":5058,"date":"2018-05-10T12:00:02","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T16:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.swarthmore.edu\/its\/?p=5058"},"modified":"2018-05-15T11:31:37","modified_gmt":"2018-05-15T15:31:37","slug":"learning-with-linkedin-with-lynda-com-content","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.swarthmore.edu\/its\/2018\/05\/10\/learning-with-linkedin-with-lynda-com-content\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning with LinkedIn with Lynda.com Content"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We launched the Lynda.com online tutorial site at Swarthmore nearly five years ago.\u00a0 A reminder: everyone who is a student, a faculty member, or staff has access to the entire library of videos.\u00a0 Since we launched, we have watched 56,443 videos (over 4000 hours), completed 436 courses, and averaged 16 minutes per visit together.\u00a0 Lynda.com was purchased by LinkedIn and is in the process of rebranding.\u00a0 As the rebranding continues, we will come to know this set of videos as LinkedIn Learning (currently: LinkedIn Learning with Lynda.com Content, past: Lynda.com).\u00a0 At the time of this post, there are\u00a06,526 courses and 212,334 video tutorials available to you.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of our usage here at Swarthmore, we tended to use the content on LinkedIn Learning to help answer questions about Microsoft and Adobe products quite a bit.\u00a0 But now, we are looking at everything from 3D modeling software to negotiating job offers to mobile device photography.<\/p>\n<p>The amount of content available to you continues to grow, and the partnership with LinkedIn allows you to post your Certificates of Completion on your LinkedIn profile.\u00a0 This can be very useful for our seniors, our young alums, or anyone else who is looking for jobs, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/help\/lynda\/answer\/80437\/sharing-lynda-com-certificates-of-completion?lang=en\">these instructions show you how easy it is to do<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Another hot tip is that you may <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/help\/lynda\/answer\/84770\">use a mobile device to download videos for offline watching<\/a>.\u00a0 We still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lynda.com\/apps\">use the Lynda apps<\/a> here at Swarthmore.\u00a0 This is particularly helpful when traveling or when you will not have access to data or wifi, or for when you feel like queuing up a playlist for later.\u00a0 Try it out!\u00a0 Of course, we know you will want to know how to free up space on your device after you finish watching.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/help\/lynda\/topics\/10034\/10035\/70529\">Here is how to free up space<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Happy learning!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lynda.swarthmore.edu\"><strong>http:\/\/lynda.swarthmore.edu<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We launched the Lynda.com online tutorial site at Swarthmore nearly five years ago.\u00a0 A reminder: everyone who is a student, a faculty member, or staff has &hellip;
