ITS offers a wide range of services, some of which you might not know about.\u00a0 The following eight services are available to the campus community.\u00a0 To learn more, get\u00a0in touch with your Academic Technologist<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1. Free 3D Printing and Laser Cutting<\/h1>\n

\"\"Last week, ITS announced free 3D printing<\/a> for the campus community.\u00a0 We have three 3D printers and a laser cutter in our new MakerSpace in Beardsley Hall.<\/p>\n

2. Chromebooks<\/h1>\n

Any\u00a0member of the campus community can check out a Chromebook<\/a>\u00a0from Media Services for a short term loan.<\/p>\n

3. Supercomputing<\/h1>\n

Anyone at Swarthmore can access supercomputers through a partnership with the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE)<\/a>\u00a0or via the\u00a0Open\u00a0Science Grid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

4. Awesome Online Training<\/h1>\n

Swarthmore has subscriptions to Lynda.com<\/a> and DataCamp.\u00a0 Lynda has thousands of tutorial videos on a wide range of topics\u00a0including\u00a0software and web development but also business\u00a0and how to land a job.\u00a0 DataCamp<\/a> has high quality data-science videos on learning R, Python, and\u00a0visualizations.<\/p>\n

5. Videoconferencing<\/h1>\n

Zoom is the\u00a0best way to do video web-conferencing and the campus community has free access<\/a>.<\/p>\n

6. Quadcopter\u00a03DR Solo Quadcopter<\/h1>\n

ITS has a quadcopter<\/a> available for checkout for academic projects.<\/p>\n

7. Free access to Amazon Web Services<\/h1>\n

Interested in setting up your own server, doing number crunching, or using the cloud to power your startup?\u00a0 Faculty get $200 and students get $100 per year to spend on Amazon Web Services (AWS) through\u00a0AWS Educate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

8. AutoDesk Software<\/h1>\n

We have free access to a wide range of AutoDesk software<\/a> for artists, designers, and engineers, including AutoCAD\/Inventor (computer-aided design), Maya\/3DS Max (3D animation and modeling), and Sketchbook (drawing and design).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
