{"id":31,"date":"2008-12-01T19:09:37","date_gmt":"2008-12-01T19:09:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.swarthmore.edu\/academics\/?p=31"},"modified":"2024-04-22T14:39:29","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T18:39:29","slug":"peace-and-conflict-studies-in-northern-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.swarthmore.edu\/academics\/pcs\/2008\/12\/01\/peace-and-conflict-studies-in-northern-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"Peace and Conflict Studies in Northern Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the spring semester of 2008, Swarthmore College launched <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/x15684.xml\">an innovative community-based study abroad program in Northern Ireland<\/a>, and two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/peacestudies\">Peace and Conflict Studies<\/a> (PCS) students, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swarthmore.edu\/x18661.xml\">Reina Chano &#8217;09 and Maurice Weeks &#8217;09, were the first to complete the inaugural semester<\/a>. A third PCS student, Jessa Deutsch &#8217;10, participated in a summer internship this past summer.
