{"id":1718,"date":"2010-11-09T20:04:42","date_gmt":"2010-11-09T20:04:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.swarthmore.edu\/academics\/?p=1718"},"modified":"2024-04-22T14:37:28","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T18:37:28","slug":"rachel-brooker-99-window-on-the-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.swarthmore.edu\/academics\/music-and-dance\/2010\/11\/09\/rachel-brooker-99-window-on-the-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Rachel Brooker 99: Window on the Work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rachel Brooker &#8217;99 <\/strong>will be featured in <strong>WINDOW ON THE WORK<\/strong> on Wednesday November 11 at 6PM in the LPAC Troy Dance Studio.<\/p>\n<p>Rachel Brooker founded and directs Anima Dance, and is the site coordinator for <a href=\"http:\/\/thefieldnetwork.wordpress.com\/berlin-germany\/\" target=\"field\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Field Berlin<\/a>, a local branch of an international arts organization.<strong> anima dance<\/strong>, an eight-year-old dance theater company, is based in Berlin, Germany.\u00a0 The company productions to date include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animadance.org\/projects\/artaud.htm\">The Artaud Project<\/a>,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animadance.org\/projects\/ohbeautiful.htm\">My Patriot  Act<\/a>, a reflection on the condition of being American, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animadance.org\/projects\/invitation.htm\">Invitation<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animadance.org\/projects\/bodyonthebody.htm\">Body  on the Body<\/a>, interactive installations, ten evenings of original  choreography and six       <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animadance.org\/video.htm\">dance films<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brooker&#8217;s work has been funded by public and private donors in both sides of the Atlantic.\u00a0 She has a degree in Dance and Biology from Swarthmore College, and has performed across the US and Europe, most recently collaborating with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.felixruckert.de\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Felix Ruckert<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bogaertsproductions.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marc Bogaerts<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animadance.org\/performance\/girasoles.htm\">Sabine Dahrendorf<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Rachel will also host a workshop in the LPAC Troy Dance Studio at 4:30PM on Thursday November 11.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rachel Brooker &#8217;99 will be featured in WINDOW ON THE WORK on Wednesday November 11 at 6PM in the LPAC Troy Dance Studio.
