Blackboard Upgrade and Training in August

This summer, we will upgrade our Tri-College Blackboard Learning Management System to the latest version, and offer several workshops on old and new features. If you have immediate questions about Blackboard, please contact any member of our ITS/Library Support Team.

In order to carry out the upgrade, Blackboard will be off line for a few hours.

Planned Blackboard outage:
Monday, August 11
8AM-12PM

New features and training:

The newest version of Blackboard brings two major feature enhancements: the Grade Center and Self/Peer Assessments. The Grade Center is a redesigned version of the old gradebook, with several notable improvements to the grade entry/editing process, as well as convenient ways to view and interact with on-line grades and assignments.

The ITS/Library Blackboard support team will be providing documentation and training to help familiarize you with the new features. If you’ve used the gradebook in the past, you may want to come to the new Grade Center workshop to learn how to take best advantage of the new look and feel; if you’ve never used the gradebook, this might be a great time to get started. In the “Getting More” session, we will cover a number of useful Bb tools in-depth, including the new Self/Peer Assessment assignment type which is
designed to allow for student evaluation and feedback on their own or their peers’ work. Please follow the links below for registration and full workshop descriptions.
