I’m So Old-Fashioned

It’s quaint of me. While I normally wouldn’t spare a thought about Tom Cruise, the fact that he’s going around claiming to know the history of psychology and psychiatry, and that said knowledge appears to consist of bullshit distortions straight out of the Scientology catalog, gets my attention just long enough to annoy the hell out of me. It’s not even as if I’m particularly a fan of contemporary professional psychiatry or its pharmacological practices.

    It’s hard to avoid some passing thought of hate aimed at Tom Cruise these days. He’s everywhere doing the kissy-face thing with Katie or getting in Matt Lauer’s face. I just read an article in the Post that said that his handlers are keeping reporters at 100 yards away from him at all times. They’re afraid that widespread hate for him will keep people away from seeing his movie. Maybe all this will lead to some articles on the idiocy of Scientology.
