Happy birthday, Origin of Species!

I often like to imagine conversations between Charles Darwin and his children, who were the very first kids on the planet to learn about where plants and animals are actually from. They, in turn, probably transmitted this love of evolution and natural selection to their kids. And so on.  So when I hear about descendants of Charles Darwin today being evolution fans, I smile. The descendants are probably rather dilute in actual Charles Darwin alleles, I suspect, but family transmission of a love of science is hard to break. We should all give our kids the benefit of the same insight.

Here’s my 15 seconds of fame over at Newsweek Life blog. I was tempted to give them a photograph of myself posing with running clothes, but decided against it.
