Swarthmore Athletes named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Six Swarthmore student-athletes were named to the fall All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team today. The Centennial’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee created the team to emphasize sportsmanship within the Conference. All institutions elected one member from their team who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the All-Centennial team.

Joslyn Young Named Second-Team Centennial Conference

Franklin & Marshall Rallies to Defeat Field Hockey 4-2 on Senior Day

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – It was a bittersweet ending to the Swarthmore College field hockey team’s home season, as Franklin & Marshall – needing a win to make the Centennial Conference playoffs – rallied for three goals in the second half to defeat the Garnet 4-2 on Saturday afternoon from Clothier Field Stadium. Freshman Sophia Agathis and junior captain Sophia Ferguson scored first-half goals while senior Gina Grubb made it a Senior Day to remember by recording a career-high 17 saves.

Field Hockey Falls to Haverford 7-1

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Junior Sophia Ferguson scored her fourth goal of the season, but it was not enough as the Swarthmore field hockey team (5-11, 1-7) fell to rival Haverford 7-1 on Wednesday evening.

Field Hockey at Gettysburg Postponed Until November 1

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Saturday’s scheduled Centennial Conference field hockey match between the Swarthmore Garnet and the Gettysburg Bullets has been postponed until Sunday, November 1 because of the threat of thunderstorms across Central Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – No. 3 Ursinus got two goals each from Alyssa Thren and Megan Yoder, as the high-powered Bears overwhelmed the Swarthmore field hockey team 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon from Clothier Field Stadium. Krista Scheirer made three defensive saves for the Garnet.
