LANCASTER, Pa. – Thirty Swarthmore College student-athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the 2009 fall season. The honor roll recognizes athletes’ performance both on the field and in the classroom.
BOSTON – Marissa Schaffer ‘09, Hannah Jaicks ‘09, and Annie Carter ‘09 of the Swarthmore women’s lacrosse team were named to the 2009 IWLCA Academic Squad, the organization announced earlier in the week.
INDIANAPOLIS – Former Swarthmore College student-athlete Caitlin Mullarkey has been selected as a semifinalist for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. Mullarkey is one of 30 women remaining in the contest, which has been narrowed down from 132 representatives covering all three NCAA divisions and multiple sports.
INDIANAPOLIS – Swarthmore College senior Caitlin Mullarkey ‘09 has been selected as the Centennial Conference’s representative for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. Mullarkey is one of 132 women to be nominated for the award, with selections coming from all three NCAA divisions and multiple sports.
PHILADELPHIA – Swarthmore College senior Caitlin Mullarkey was named the 2008-09 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Female Performer of the Year as voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Junior women’s tennis player Rachel Wallwork was also honored as the Tennis All-Area Performer of the Year, senior golfer David Lau ‘09 earned a spot on the Men’s Golf Academic All-Area Team and Mullarkey was also honored as the Track & Field Performer of the Year.
