Wallwork, Gilchrist-Scott Named Academic All-District by ESPN the Magazine

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Swarthmore tennis player Rachel Wallwork ’10 and swimmer Doug Glichrist-Scott ’09 were recently named to ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II Team, as voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Wallwork is a first-team selection in the At-Large College Division while Gilchrist-Scott earned second-team status.

Mullarkey Culminates Career at NCAA Championships

MARIETTA, Ohio. — Swarthmore senior Cait Mullarkey competed at her second NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships in two months, finishing 11th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Don Drumm Stadium on the campus of Marietta College Friday afternoon.

Wilson, Friedenberg Named All-Centennial

LANCASTER, Pa. — Swarthmore College juniors Max Wilson and Kevin Friedenberg were named to the 2009 All-Centennial Conference team for men’s lacrosse, as voted by the conference coaches. Wilson, a defenseman, received a second-team selection while Friedenberg, a goalie, was honorable mention, as announced by the Conference office Tuesday afternoon.

BALTIMORE — Swarthmore men’s tennis made a strong run at the 2009 Centennial Conference Men’s Tennis Championships this weekend, topping Haverford in the semifinals, 6-3, before falling at 12th-ranked Johns Hopkins University, 5-0, in the championships Sunday afternoon at the Perring Athletic Center.
